U. S. Steel’s Gary Works was proud to host U. S. Congressman Jim Banks (R-IN) last month, in Gary, IN. Rep. Banks is a native Hoosier and represents Northeastern Indiana in Washington, D.C.
While at Gary Works, Rep. Banks toured the Pig Iron Caster and Hot Strip Mill with Senior Vice President & Chief Manufacturing Officer – North American Flat-Rolled Segment Scott Buckiso, Gary Works Vice President Dan Killeen, and U. S. Steel Vice President of Government Affairs Todd Young. The group also discussed policies important to American steel production, including trade enforcement and EPA regulation.
Before his election to the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Banks deployed to Afghanistan during Operations Enduring Freedom and Freedom’s Sentinel.
U. S. Steel has been an economic driver for the United States for over 120 years, and we were proud to showcase this history at our Gary Works to our representatives in Congress!
