Reflecting on U. S. Steel's First Annual Volunteer Week - A Success!

As Global Diversity Awareness Month comes to a close, U. S. Steel's LEAD (Leveraging and Enhancing All Diversity) Employee Resource Group is thrilled to celebrate the success of our first annual Volunteer Week! Held throughout October, this initiative embodied the spirit of this month by actively promoting inclusion and fostering community through meaningful volunteer work.

From October 15 to October 22, employees at our Gary, Midwest, Great Lakes, Auto Center, Headquarters, Mon Valley, Research, Pittsburgh Service Center, Fairfield, Minnesota Ore Operations, and Houston locations rolled up their sleeves and showed what it means to support our neighbors. We collaborated with local food banks in the Feeding America network, engaging in a variety of impactful activities, including packaging, sorting, and distributing food to those in need.

In total, we packed over 150,000 lbs. of food, helping over 25,000 people! Volunteers across our facilities dedicated their time and effort, truly making a difference in helping bridge gaps and uplifting underrepresented groups.

Additionally, U. S. Steel will be making a total monetary donation of $20,000 on behalf of all locations plus Granite City and Big River Steel, ensuring that even more communities could benefit from our collective efforts.

We’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who volunteered, donated, or participated in spreading awareness during Global Diversity Awareness Month. Your commitment to inclusion and service has strengthened our shared mission of building more inclusive workplaces and communities.

A special thank you goes out to U. S. Steel’s ERG members, volunteers, and organizers for making this event such a success. Together, we are shaping a future where diversity and inclusion are not just ideas, but everyday realities that uplift and empower us all.

**Thank you for making U. S. Steel’s first Volunteer Week a true success!**

Thank you for your continued commitment to making U. S. Steel a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone!

Best Regards,

LEAD Leadership
