Q2 Volunteer Spotlight
April 2022
U. S. Steel IT (pictured below), along with The Carnegie Science Center, participated in Computer Science SciTech day, where 2,000+ students were introduced to the world of Cybersecurity and Data Analytics.
Volunteers from the U. S. Steel IT organization came together in honor of Earth Day:
In Pittsburgh, PA (pictured below) – IT team members and Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) cleared debris and fallen trees from the HARP onsite trail, created steps to a creek, and more.
In Gary, IN – IT team members (pictured below) and representatives of Indiana Dunes National Park cleaned up over 1.5 miles of Porter and Ogden Dunes beachfront on beautiful Lake Michigan, removing over 60 pounds of trash.

Members of U. S. Steel IT (pictured below) partnered with the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh to participate in the their 2nd annual Top Golf Fundraiser. Volunteers helped to set up tables, organize raffle baskets, sell tickets, clean up, and more. The event was a huge success, raising $14,000 for the association.
June 2022
U. S. Steel IT, along with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, laced up their shoes to participate in the Walk for Children’s event. Our employees joined the event as virtual walkers, raising $540.
Despite the heat, volunteers from the IT team (pictured below) and Allegheny County Parks came together to spread 40 yards of mulch around 150 trees in White Oak Park.
Members from the U. S. Steel IT team in Northwest Indiana (pictured below) jumped in to assist the Westchester Food Pantry with the daunting task of sorting dry goods, recycling boxes, and relocating four freezers.
