In honor of Veterans Day, the Gary Works and Midwest Plant chapters of U. S. Steel’s SERVE Employee Resource Group conducted gate collections at both plants to benefit Porter and Lake County Disabled Veterans.  

More than 50 volunteers working across two shifts collected $11,368.80 generously donated by employees at both facilities.

Members of the SERVE team presented checks to the local Disabled American Veteran chapters in Porter County and Lake County, which will use the funds to assist disabled veterans that reside in both counties.
